A new venture

Gentlemen, (and Ladies, of course!). After watching lots of You Tube, it has come to my attention that we are missing out on a bit of model aviation. Those of us with gliders need to modify the aircraft with a tow release and convince a fellow member to use one of his planes as a tug! The ideal applicant needs to be a smart, intelligent, man-about-town, who happens to be a very good pilot. Might I suggest Dave (slippery when wet) Cook, Peter (he with the sweety bomber) Bruce or Simon (I've got a couple of nice powerful aircraft) Psaila. I look forward to your comments. Roy

Sounds like a plan Roy.

Would I be right in assuming that you still havent got your engine back from Milky? and that is why your requesting a free lift?

Damn......it appears that I've been rumbled! Still no engine and yes, gliders don't need them. Are you going to be our tug pilot, Dave? Notice that there has been no comment from Pete and Simon.......just saying!

Hi Roy! Only just got back from an unavoidable family thing (70th birthday...on no how many more?) in Somerset. Looks like I missed the only 5 good flying/chatting days of the year. S***! Bad luck but hope you all enjoyed it. So in answer to your question, I would be happy to tow your glider with my DHC Beaver (the big white one with lots of power that takes off on 1/3 throttle). Hopefully we will get more good days soon.
Are you providing the release mechanism? Lets chat about it.

Hi Roy. The reason I had not replied was because the idea of a glider at the flying field brought back painful memories of being put on a year probation for flying just a little bit out of bounds...
Now I know you have not got an engine for your model its all starting to make sense to me.
You were told it was ready to collect (after a year). Frustration can be a real problem however as you were in the tank core I am sure it could be a good idea to go and knock on the door with it's gun barrel.

Check out both May and June issues of the RCM&E magazine as glider towing is featured. Could my old Micromold Sprite be towed up?

Great! Replies from all the usual suspects. Simon, I already have several tow releases, so no problems, there. Pete.......I was in The Royal Tank Regiment, which is part of the Royal Armoured Corp, however the idea of knocking on his door with a gun barrel appeals to me!
Mike, I've been following the articles in RCM&E closely. See you all soon, hopefully.

No need to knock, the doors normally open there's some old engine he uses to stop it closing.

I am a bit concerned that some-one is trying to sell an engine, which if I remember correctly, is the same as the one which I gave to er......um.....what's his name, on eBay. Am I having to buy my own engine back?
