Another Sunny Sunday and not a soul on the flying field

Its frustrating for some of us new members not being privy to all the little social gathering's that go on been a member for 6 months and not got a single flight in yet.

So frustrating.

Hi Paul.
Your dire frustration came over very clearly with your comment on the club Blog.
I have to inform you that the "social gatherings" you refer to came about from the posting I made on the Blog addressed to every member on the 14th Jan 2016 regarding slope soaring when the members who wanted to gather over the frustrating winter months were mustered - the members who replied they were interested in going winter flying were then put on my email list and were sent out full information by me giving weather predictions for around 5 days ahead of the proposed flying day together with fully detailed maps with instructions / directions on how to get to the slope soaring flying sites.
I even gave my phone number out on the blog as well...
This was all done to give people "stick time" helping them over the winters grim and windy wet winter.
Perhaps you missed the many comments & pictures / videos made on the BMFA Blog referring to our trips - that's if this is the "social gatherings" your referring to...
Other than that if its flyable then just go to the field but with the weather we have had many members have not ventured to the flying field for months so your not alone...
Perhaps when the warmer /dryer weather comes I hope you will feel less frustrated.
Regards Peter - Phone me if I can help you 01795881307 - I can do no more.

Thanks Peter

Hope the weather improves soon

Lost count of the number of times I have charged all my battery packs, loaded the car up and sat on my own awaiting the arrival of anyone, and then having to go home and discharge my packs, yet again.

Its also so frustrating seeing so many of the clubs new members, many of then joining after me getting their A's and I have not been able to even get in even one flight yet. Almost got me thinking of going over to the dark side and getting a quad just get some air time in somewhere private and quiet.

My fault I know for joining too late last year but it gets to me in the end.

On the subject of Minster Cliffs, how do you get there, I kept trying today and although I got the odd glimps of you in the distance I failed to find you. Not lived on Sheppey all that long so don't yet know all the little locations the more seasoned residents know about.

Thanks

Paul

"Social gatherings" please don't post making the club sounding "clicky" Peters worked hard to keep the interest in flying over the winter.. if u turn up on windy days at the field u will be sitting there on your own! We didnt arrange anything yesterday we just come when its nice :) i use the met office and IOSSC weather cam as do most members :) U will only get what u put in to just like any thing in life. For me i'm enjoying BPMFC best thing i ever did thankyou to all the members apart from paul ;) joke paul just enjoy it and have fun regards Paul..
