 PLEASE READ…

Hi All

I hope this email finds you and your families well.

Firstly, I would like to inform you all that Brian Hughes, a valued member of the club for many years, sadly passed away recently. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Secondly, due to unforeseen circumstances the club AGM for 13th December 2021 has been cancelled.

The AGM will now be rearranged for January 2022. The date will be circulated when it has been finalised with the Harps Inn.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Finally If you know of any members that have not received this email, please could you let me know or kindly pass on this information, thank you.

Kind Regards

MEDWAY SUNDAY SWAP MEETING CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER.

Sorry guys only found out about 10:25 Saturday…

Hope to have it now 8/8/21…

Tuesday 20 July 2021

HELP NEEDED PLEASE. URGENT.

Our gate lock clasp has become un-welded. Need a generator and electric welder to weld the clasp back onto the upright pole so we can secure the gate. I have a grinder so I can clean off the rust.

Only need a small weld - at most 4 blobs. (OK you can tell I’m no welder).

Contact anyone on the committee.

Gate padlock.

A new temporary padlock has been put on the gate. Your existing keys will not work.

You will have to enter via the first gate or walk over.

Where areas are wet do not drive there.

The council have been made aware of the situation.

First trip to the Flying Field in 2021.

Lovely weather yesterday Tuesday the 8th ,so it was great to get out and do a bit of flying. Broken Wing also attended as did Pete and Trev . The latter pair were observers only but were available for advice and humour which was readily given when needed. Slip has obviously done an excellent job with the field, the grass looked superb. My planes the Trainer and the Flair Cub were bought for very cheap prices (Cub £14) and both needed a fair degree of refurbishment. The Trainer had flown once before but suffered a detached aileron on landing and the ancient Cub was due a Maiden flight. Broken Wings planes flew well but the switch on the blue biplane (Name?) failed fortunately before it took to the air. With Broken Wings assistance all my planes flew OK but the Cub which flew the best in the moderate wind,  suffered 3 'Dead Sticks' the last Upwind and the subsequent heavy landing caused minor damage which I have partially repaired this morning.

Latest field pictures

Inspected the flying field today but it’s still waterlogged in many places and is unsuitable for vehicles. The grass is long but it can’t be cut as the ground is to soft to allow mowing. Sorry guys but until it dries out a bit more it’s got to be a walk over. Beware of the long grass - your take off run could prove “interesting”😳😳😳.

Minster Cliffs bank holiday friday :)

Great to be down the field again.

Social distancing at it's best. Pete did turn up later though lol.

Tuesday 23 February 2021

All my planes are in the loft at home. however I picked this Flair Cub up for £16 at the annual general meeting of the Epsom Downs club over a year ago. It needed attention to the ailerons and the nose and cowling and the removal of the pilot that was a small scale Postman Pat plus his black and white cat. The two servos needed replacement , there was no fuel tank or engine. I have fitted an Enya SS 40 and have appointed PB as a test pilot and look forward to my next trip to Bartons Point when ever that might be/

Reminder.

As always Club paperwork has to be kept up to date, for the majority of you this year your subscription was waived.

However the 'PAPERWORK' for your bpmfc renewal form for your club membership still requires submitting to the Club Secretary. secretarybpmfc@live.com (Only by email or by post NO house visit).

You can access the form by clicking on this link.

I am aware that some members have not renewed their bmfa as we are unable to fly due to Covid 19 restrictions. We are an affiliated club and therefore members are required to have a valid bmfa membership which you are now required to obtain from the bmfa yourself.

Article 16. Have you ticked the box to confirm that you have read and understood it? BMFA Login Page, https://bmfa.azolve.com.
