Got two of them - the turning wheel on mine has covered 1000s of miles and we had it on top of our Sky box as its heat was enough to keep it going even on standby. When it was new mine could originally run from just the heat of your hand...
Look up the history on this type of engine...
Robert Stirling was a Scot and this engine patent goes back to 1816...

Hi Phill.
I find the Stirling engine very interesting and even some satellites get energy through a Stirling engine. The efficiency is particularly high considering the great differences in temperature in space between sun and shade so they work very well. Japan has done loads of work on the concept and as usual are in advance of everyone now...
