Sorry guys only found out about 10:25 Saturday…
Hope to have it now 8/8/21…
Our gate lock clasp has become un-welded. Need a generator and electric welder to weld the clasp back onto the upright pole so we can secure the gate. I have a grinder so I can clean off the rust.
Only need a small weld - at most 4 blobs. (OK you can tell I’m no welder).
Contact anyone on the committee.
A new temporary padlock has been put on the gate. Your existing keys will not work.
You will have to enter via the first gate or walk over.
Where areas are wet do not drive there.
The council have been made aware of the situation.
Hi David . The padlock has been cut off the main gate I put a light weight tie on it . Regards Richard
First trip to the Flying Field in 2021.
Lovely weather yesterday Tuesday the 8th ,so it was great to get out and do a bit of flying. Broken Wing also attended as did Pete and Trev . The latter pair were observers only but were available for advice and humour which was readily given when needed. Slip has obviously done an excellent job with the field, the grass looked superb. My planes the Trainer and the Flair Cub were bought for very cheap prices (Cub £14) and both needed a fair degree of refurbishment. The Trainer had flown once before but suffered a detached aileron on landing and the ancient Cub was due a Maiden flight. Broken Wings planes flew well but the switch on the blue biplane (Name?) failed fortunately before it took to the air. With Broken Wings assistance all my planes flew OK but the Cub which flew the best in the moderate wind, suffered 3 'Dead Sticks' the last Upwind and the subsequent heavy landing caused minor damage which I have partially repaired this morning.
You must send an email to the club secretary stating that you are going to fly at the club before you go.
Members must continue to do this until the club secretary advises that it is no longer necessary.
Inspected the flying field today but it’s still waterlogged in many places and is unsuitable for vehicles. The grass is long but it can’t be cut as the ground is to soft to allow mowing. Sorry guys but until it dries out a bit more it’s got to be a walk over. Beware of the long grass - your take off run could prove “interesting”😳😳😳.
