This is the plane awaiting refurbishment in my garage . This was the fun flyer I have mentioned previously in Speedy Brit's post . It was given to me with a damaged Super Air and another plane that Pete Scanlon repaired and flew:

Slowly progressing with the build,  glued all the ailerons and flaps with supplied type robart hinges no problems. Fitting the flap and aileron servos to the mounts. The control horns were fitted with four screws but two of the screws supplied are two short to go through the ail/flaps balsa had to use some slightly longer screws from stock.  Looking at the clevisis they seem a bit cheap so replaced them with 3mm ball joints but that meant replacing the supplied push rods because they were to short with using ball joints.

Whilst I am gluing my hinges in to the extreme wing, useful tip whilst mixing epoxy do you have to scratch around for something to mix on? What I do,is use post it notes mix your epoxy then tear off the layer hey you have a clean surface for next time. Rc Fly

Wot 4 Extreme build

Started the build last night. First job was to heatshrink the wings, tail and control surfaces and seal all the edges of the solarfilm, when I opened the box you could see ripples and loose covering. It is rather tedious but I hate covering coming loose because it never sticks back. Then even more tedious is to seal all edges with nail varnish. (yes all edges). I smeared with epoxy the servo covers around the hole for added security.

Just a quick question as a new member would anyone be interested in a build blog on this site. I am not sure if this site is just for news items or members can submit articles. I have just got a wot 4 extreme and intend putting in a dle 55. Thought it might be of interest.

Depression!

Mike - SW winds for Castle Hill - tried to get people interested in slope soaring but very few takers - even put maps on here. 
Our weather systems have gone to pot and the usually strong SW winds we used to get are now fairly low wind days so we can fly at the field. What we get now is a more northerly wind content and this crazy mix with today’s disruptive weather is a typical example. The picture below shows the low pressure system of 975 mb -  running up the English Channel, this type of Low pressure system is usually reserved for Icelandic latitudes...

When the Cllff Wacker is ready for flight !

Speedy Brit, when you have finished the Cliff Wacker let me know so we can get a slope soaring session in. It is snowing at present here 52 miles from Sheppey and has been all morning so flying is out of the question, but you guys sometimes fly off the Minster cliffs when the wind is Northerly, I prefer Castle Hill when the winds are South Westerly and slightly warmer. Two years ago I refurbished a really badly put together Middlephase 2 glider I got from E-bay thinking a trip to Castle Hill would be on the cards with Broken Wing and Co. So far this has not happened for a few years.

After 2 years its finally out the box and on the bench... now wot???

Chaps and Chapesses. I have a contact who has over 200 Airfix, Frog and other plastic model aircraft for sale. I have seen them and they are all still brand new and untouched. NORTH WESTERLY WAS FREEZING but always fun :)

I have just about finished refurbishing this anonymous Trainer which has included repairs to the tail- plane and recovering of the fuselage and tail- plane . I fitted a new fuel tank and tubing and this afternoon will fit a new 2.4 GHZ receiver and switch. As you can see it's slightly bigger than the Super Air but very much lighter in weight so it could be good for the A-test ? Anyone know what the plane is called , it needs a name but if none can be suggested then 'Old Bird' might do ? --it is powered by an OS 46 LA.

November! Decent weather and warm (ish), dry ground can't be bad :-) Even my bungee loved it, it gave me one launch of 343 feet.

Gonna be busy wend on xbox but friday looking good if anyone fancies it :)

Field or Cliff? Was 20+mph all day until we hit the cliff!! Good fun though :)

Well it's been three years now and I still have not taken or passed my 'A' certificate . I have got planes in the loft at home that either have not flown or have only flown once that to date have not been considered suitable for the test as they are either 3 channel, have awkward take-off characteristics, don't penetrate on a windy day etc. Anyway the next plane to try is my Super Air which I was given as a 'crashed repairable'  it would seem 5 years ago. It's  now ready for a post crash maiden:

I am a new member BPMFC I have a spitfire with a NGH38 how do I go about getting it noise tested. I believe it is a requirement to fly.

With all the wind we have had recently today was a reprieve with low winds which got six of us out.
The field ground is still solid with no mud - fingers crossed it stays that way.
