Wing has 2 dihedral braces that butt upto the third rib. The back one i get cut into trailing edge, now the front looks like i've gotta cut the two ribs in half at the pencil mark i've made along the edge of the webs and fit a balsa sheet across the two webs ie top to bottom then brace glues to balsa sheet and other half of ribs ? What glue for this p.s. my efxtra took like 1/2 hour to build soo much easier ;)
Unusual for a kit, I would have thought the ribs would be pre-cut if that was the case and or plans endorsing such. Without seeing the plans and all bits in person its hard to really say. Your welcome to come and visit me and I could hold you hostage for several days and bore you rigid with my built up wings and then look at yours.
Looks to me that you build the wings first without making the provision for the braces. At the front you add the balsa webs between the ribs and when that is done you cut the slots for the brace having marked them out first. i would use Epoxy glue to fix the braces. I have not looked at the rear of the wing but would guess the same approach would work ?
Thx guys glad its got you guys thinking and not just me being a noob! As everyone knows not a bita me but i'm enjoying it slowly slowly :) as i'm in engineering i'm use to plans but these are a lil sketchy for my liking... The brace what ever way i cut in to me is gonna weaken the wing not brace it ?I will try to post a clear full pic of plan later on the blog so can see the full picture :) thx again guys.... will keep the plans just incase there are any repairs u know me ;) have fun :)
