Extreme Wot 4

Hi folks
Assembled and glued the silencer cradle and put some blocks in for straps to be screwed.
Just sorting out the P clips so I can attach the silencer but needs painting before final fitting.

  2. Which CAD are you using? I am trying to use TurboCAD to design a scale WW2 model. I'm having nightmares with it. Help!!!!!!

  3. Hi Roy, this can get a bit complicated at the moment I am using Autocad, Solidworks and 2D design. For simple woodwork I tend to use 2D design it is very similar to turbocad. I would say turbocad is more advanced. The solidworks I use for 3D printing and autocad for serious drawings. The problems you will have in any 2d design package is with regard to models
is you need to have a scanned 3 view image and you have to work on 3 drawings at once, plan end and side view and it can get very confusing. I have got round this problem because I always wanted to build a TSR2 is using specific software. I have purchased (its not cheap) Devwing and its a bit strange to use but it does all the calculations for you and ouputs to laser or cnc or hot wire cutter. It calculates all the notches formers control surfaces automatically. So I have designed the wing and working on the fus. but not purchased the output options. They also do a 2d design draft package which is all linked to the other 2. All you need is a 3 view scanned drawing which is then scaled in the software to whatever size you require, draw the outline in plan and side and does the rest for you (you have to put your curves in at former points an it calculates the rest.
Have a look at the website all the software is free to download and use but no output.

  5. Thanks for that, RcFly. Strewth my brain is really aching, now! I will to have to take each bit of information and study it carefully before going any further. I will try to keep you in the picture before I go and lay down in a darkened room.

  6. Hi Roy
It's a lot to takin but suggest you download dev fus and have a play with the software there are examples in the software to play with but you will be amazed how easy it is develop a model. Or even use your own bitmap images.
