Field Update

 Hi all.

Flying at the Club.

As you are aware the club is within a tier 3 area, if you live within a tier 3 area you may fly at the field.

However the previous guidelines for our club and it's social distancing must be adhered to.

If you live within any other tier then you are not allowed to travel into a tier 3.

COVID-19 Update

BMFA,

Model Flying in the club environment

The Government has ordered that certain venues must close, including indoor and outdoor leisure and sporting facilities.  We therefore see little option for model flying clubs to continue operating during the period of lockdown and they should close.

Therefore, our advice is for members to stay at home and make an early start on their next masterpiece.

BMFA Organised events, contests and roadshows

The BMFA is advising that all events and contests scheduled to take place in the next 4 weeks must be cancelled at this time.

Subject to a vote of Parliament, the Government will introduce further restrictions from Thursday 5th November until 2nd December (at the earliest), which limit the reasons why people can now leave their homes for at least the next four weeks (see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november).

For all club members - Please take note

Hi All,

I hope this finds you all well in these difficult times.

I have been asked by the Chairman to inform you of the following new Covid updates at the field.

“All of the previous rules still apply as per social distancing. You must carry your own Sanitizer.
To be able to accommodate the new 6 persons in a group it would be best to have one group of 6
to the far right of the pits (where heli’s hover and engine running is done).  The second group to
the far left of the pits (by car park)
Both ends are to ensure the 3 metre gap between each person in the pits.
We are not experiencing these numbers at the field so do not expect any problems”.

To comply with track and trace procedure you must email the Secretary on the day you are at the field
so she has a daily record of attendance. From today 15th September.

I have received notification from Phil Fearn that due to current new Covid rules the Swap meet on the 27th
September has had to be cancelled.

Kind Regards
Jan Bruce (Secretary)

Field Update

Hi All,
I hope this mail finds you all well.
This is the email you have been waiting for.
I have been asked to forward the following email to all of you for your information.
Happy flying, stay safe.
Jan Bruce Secretary BPMFC

Hi all Members

The field will be open from Saturday 30th May at 10 am. You must adhere to the following social distancing measures:

You must remain three metres apart from all other pilots.

Every pilot requires hand sanitizer and/or hand wipes. These must be used to clean your hands after using any of the gate padlocks and before re-entering your vehicle.

At the flight line there are to be only 2 pilots, not 2 from the same family plus 1, just 2.  Pilots are to be 3 metres apart whilst at the flight line.

If you are the first person to arrive at the pits area, you must keep to the left of the pit line as much as is possible to ensure there is maximum space for other pilots. Place your aircraft and kit to the right of you.

You must allow three metres of space from the pilot’s kit to the left of you before you may set up your kit.

Whilst in the pits, you must be able to deal with your own set ups without assistance as other pilots will be unable to offer their help.

Borrowing of any kit or equipment of any kind (e.g. glow plugs, batteries, chargers, fuel, etc.) is not permitted.

Buddying is not permitted.

In the unlikely event that an aircraft or part hits the ground, only the pilot who is operating the model can retrieve it.

The only circumstance in which you may break the social distancing measures is to administer first aid.

Be aware of social distancing with the public should they approach you.

Avoid gathering in all areas.

It is recommended that when choosing which aircraft to take to the field, you select one that requires the minimum amount of set up.

You must be able to set up and operate your aircraft by yourself safely.

If the above rules are strictly adhered to, we will be able to keep flying until normal service has resumed.

N.B. This opportunity is subject to change if government or BMFA make changes to current social distancing guidelines.

Any pilot unable to adhere to the above procedure will be at risk of losing their club membership.

Be aware that this opportunity may be stopped if the government or BMFA advise differently or if these guidelines are not adhered to.

Due to these social distancing measures, club areas may reach a capacity whereby no new pilots can set up. If you arrive and there is no available space, you are required to leave the site.

If space availability becomes a prevalent issue, pilots must be aware of the amount of time they have been occupying a spot or a time restriction may be introduced to allow more pilots to fly.

Always consider the safety of your fellow club members as well as yourself.

If you experience any problems, please contact a committee member.

Field update.

Hi All,
I hope this email finds you well.

As you are aware the club field is licenced from the council whom we have spoken to today.

The Chairman Dave Cook has spoken to all members of the Committee to discuss the possibility
of flying at the club flying site under the new guidelines.

The decision was made unanimously that NO flying activities should take place for the next 3 weeks
or until the Government announce any further changes.

This decision has not been arrived at easily as we understand that we are all looking forward to going flying
again, but we must ensure that we keep all members and the club safe.

An email from the Secretary will be sent as soon as any change is made.

Kind Regards
Jan Bruce, (Secretary) BPMFC

Hi, progressing slowly made the front section and the working drooping nose checking the alignment of the front section before glueing. A bit of sanding on the formers to get squared up but looking good. Next job is making hatches underneath for battery access and Rx plus wiring.

Hope everyone is well Phil F

Hi everyone . Hope everyone is keeping well especially those that have to go out to work to keep things running. A few of us at MMFC are keeping in touch and putting some blogs on but it seems quiet on all the forums ?

I have just repaired a Crank case on a 30cc Moki to keep busy. It had the usual broken exhaust mountings when I bought it so I had a go at repairing it . I have added a before and after pic . I used a low temp aluminium brazing rod for the repair having first tried it on a similar repair on a SC 61 .

This is the before pic the damaged threed having been drilled out and any cracks enlarged so brazing rod can penetrate properly

Th repaired Crankcase after repair has been cleaned , ground to shape , Thread tapped and bead blasted.

I like the look of the Concord Blog What power/ EDF's  are you going to use .
